Your opinion the original COD?

Postby Grievous » Sat Jan 30, 2010 12:55 am

I thought it was pretty good for the beginning game that started it all. Graphics and gameplay were pretty good.

I only have CoD 6 (MW2) and CoD 2 (Big Red One) [PS2].

CoD 2:
Great game, decent storyline, and decent graphics.

The original CoD was the best at the time! The multiplayer completely addictive and fun. My dad and I still play it on the computer. The campaign was great and the game was just awesome.

My highest online score on CoD1 on a Rifles only crouch server: 67-13 <--- elite score.

call of duty is great for someone that wants to start playing a call of duty game and that doesn't need much to run it. if you told me that you wanted to start playing a call of duty game but not sure where to start, I would say start with call of duty (the original version) and take it from there. players are much nicer on cod than cod2 from my cod2 days and I'm not gonna get in to that right now lol. due to my laptop vista having 1.7GB cpu and cod2 needing 2.0GB it lags and drags like heck, been a long time since that I've been in a server on that game and went back to my cod and uo. I had to change some things in my config file for cod and uo to run smoothly without lag so now I don't lag anymore :D. with cod2 being a DVD game, means higher detail and graphics = more ram,cpu etc that is needed. cod and uo is a CD so that's why it runs better than cod2 and newer games just for those of you who doesn't know much about computer gaming ;).

short specs sample for cod,cod2,uo.

cod2
needs atleast 2.0GB cpu and 512MB ram to run good.

cod and uo
they need atleast 800MB cpu and 256MB ram.

I don't join clans anymore.

[EW] some members asks if I wanna join their clan when they see me
[BE] it was fun being a part of your clan for as long it lasted

I'm very extremely picky when it comes to adding friends on anything, that being xfire, youtube, psn, pretty much anything that has a feature adding and accepting friends etc

I actually had a look at a couple of youtube videos that showcased the COD1 game play.
Apparently one of the maps there is a skeleton for the Wasteland map in MW2, and I just had to see it for myself. (DAK - that is entirly true by the way.... very similar maps indeed)

But that was my first look at the original COD and I have to say I am gald I never had to play it, hehe!
I am being unfiar by comparing the COD1 with MW2, but I am more than happy that we are now playing them on PS3s and XBoxs and have the quality of game play that we get.

It's where I started CoD, and had some of my funnest moments ever, because I was young it was very pleasing. Even to be killed on that game was fun. :P My uncle bought me and my dad a copy so we could play with him, because he was a gaming beast (he was like 21 at the time), and I used to play with him and just think it was awesome, then I got into CoD2 when I was like 10, and still play it now and I'm 15. :P

Well the graphics have improved with all the other CoD's, CoD was never a challenge to me it never met any of my expectations. Overall I prefer all the newer CoD's but for it starting out there was a thousand things that could be improved.

I loved the Original CoD. Had hours upon hours of fun with friends :) I had strayed away a bit after that but came back to the series recently.
